Enjoying far-reaching views of the North Sea, this secluded cottage offers the perfect getaway for a family of four with a couple of pet pooches looking to relax in a tranquil part of the Scottish Highlands. This is an ideal holiday home for dogs and their owners with miles of glorious walkies to enjoy. The peaceful cottage is set in the charming crofting hamlet of Mid Clyth, just 26.5 miles from John O’Groats, and is a wonderful base from which to explore the breathtaking north-eastern coast of Scotland.

This cosy and welcoming cottage features a tastefully decorated lounge which provides the ideal space for you to enjoy a good book or a film and to chat about the day’s adventures. The spacious and attractively designed kitchen/diner is perfect for preparing and enjoying a fantastic meal for all the family. Outside, you can relax and unwind in the charming garden which has a patio area allowing you to sit back and enjoy a morning coffee, a picnic or an evening drink while admiring the beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.

With a choice of spectacular walks to enjoy from the doorstep, this cottage is perfect for keen dog-walkers. Nearby places of interest include the Hill o’ Many Stanes (1 mile), the Grey Cairns of Camster (6.5 miles) and Cairn o’Get (3.5 miles). Dogs are also welcome to help you explore the Castle of Old Wick (10 miles). The nearby town of Lybster (4 miles) has a quaint harbour and a pebble beach, or you could head to popular towns including Wick (10 miles) and Thurso (27.5 miles). You can also take your dogs on a ferry from John O’Groats for a day trip to the spectacular Orkney Islands, which have an array of wildlife and stunning scenery.

Ideally located to explore the northern east coast. So quiet. We were visited by deer on a few occasions. Cottage was comfortable, we had a good week

Absolutely fabulous.....home away from home....would have loved to stay longer ....not one complaint about cottage or area it was in... couldn't have asked for more..we have stayed in many cottages all over the UK..and this one is in the top 5...thank you...

I love the position, looking out across fields to the sea. It's fabulous. It feels very private but not too isolated as its not far from the main road. A great location from which to explore Caithness. Wick, Thurso and John O Groats aren't too far away. Also lots of good vantage points from which to look for whales and dolphins. Hi, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bulchatton. The total peace and quiet was a great antidote for a busy life. The facilities were what we expected the views were really quite spectacular (even though there was a Haar for a couple of days)! The cottage is delightful and we were so grateful to find the heating on and everything warm and toasty when we arrived on a very cold wet afternoon. The beds are super comfy and very cosy. The instructions for your hive central heating were unreadable. So we struggled to get it working.

We had the pleasure of staying at Bulchatton cottage in the second half of August. We were gobsmacked by the scenic drive to get there, and the cottage did not disappoint. It boasts good sized rooms with a friendly, comfortable atmosphere. Although a little remote it is not far to access Northern Scotlands delights. Also shops and everything else you could need can be found in Wick. A separate 2 nd toilet is an absolute bonus. Very comfortable beds and sofas in lounge. Every utensil needed can be found in the kitchen and we found the cottage warm and toasty when the mist came down.! The cottage was warm and comfortable, a good base for visiting a range of places. Good views over the sea towards the Beatrice wind farm, and good walks nearby. Good wifi, too. If you're looking for peace and quiet, it fits the bill.

Bulchattan Cottage is a lovely, cosy cottage - with beautiful sunrises, too! It's perfectly located for exploring the northeast of Scotland - and Orkney!
