Explore inland walks, stretch furry legs on the coast path or go for runs on Carbis Bay Beach – this is a fabulous seaside getaway for couples, friends or small families. Take your pup to visit the dog-friendly shops and eateries of St Ives, Penzance and Marazion and, when you get home, relax in the sumptuous comforts of this luxurious property and its safely enclosed garden.
This timber-clad cottage has a superb, open-plan living space with a soaring ceiling and wood floor. Light and bright, it’s filled with home comforts, from board games to DVDs, and boasts a wood burner as well as a Smart TV, giving you the option of streaming a favourite show as your four-pawed friend snores at your feet. Prepare human and canine meals in the easy-to-use kitchen, and dine by the windows as you recount your day’s adventures. The beautifully decorated king-size bedroom has French doors to the garden, and shares a high-quality shower room with the slightly more compact twin room, where there are 2’6” zip-and-link beds (which can be made up as a king-size bed on request). Your delighted dog will want to sniff around the enclosed garden, which has shallow steps and a slope. It boasts mature planting, lounge seating and a decked dining area. The thoughtful owners have also provided an outside tap and hosepipe for washing off salty dogs and wetsuits, as well as windbreaks and bodyboards in the garden storage shed.
The cottage is in a tranquil setting, accessed via an unmade lane and less than a mile from Carbis Bay Beach. Your furry friend is welcome here mornings and evenings in the summer months, and all day during the rest of the year. Alternatively, about a mile along the coastal path takes you to Porthkidney Beach, dog-friendly all year round and with a wonderful expanse of soft sand for games of fetch. For a shady walk, head to the Steeple Woodland Reserve, 1 mile away.
