This unique period property is a great place for you, your family or friends and your canine companions to relax. A Grade II listed water mill with many of its original features, it allows you to escape the hectic pace of modern life by stepping back in time and appreciating the simpler things in life. Conveniently located between the New Forest National Park, two Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Studland Nature Reserve, you and your hounds will have a wealth of walking opportunities to explore. Should you want it, you’re also close to urban coastal areas such as Poole and Bournemouth.

This property is the epitome of unique. The craftsmanship in the bespoke woodwork throughout the property is something to behold; from the kitchen units and worktops to the four-poster bed, everything appears to be moulded into the house. The exposed beams, inglenook fireplace and wood burner in the lounge create a cosy atmosphere – the perfect place to cuddle up with your pooches of an evening. The games room/cinema is particularly special with its original working water wheel. With low ceilings and some of the bedrooms accessed via steep staircases, this property may not suit everyone. Outside, the property shares an island garden which is accessed across the river: beautiful, but not ideal for small children.

The natural beauty surrounding the village of Corfe Mullen, where this property is situated, means guests will never run out of things to see and do. An abundance of footpaths, quaint English villages and pubs/tearooms await you. A highlight is the Swanage Railway, which runs from the delightful National Trust village of Corfe Castle to the seaside resort of Swanage. Both places are worth a visit, particularly the impressive castle with its trails for kids, and dogs are also welcome along for the ride.

Made our Christmas so special! Amazing, quirky property! Bob & Dee were lovely hosts. Brilliant for dogs as there's a massive field/island connected to the back garden by a foot bridge where your dog can run off the lead. Renzo loved it! Would love to go back again if the opportunity arises! Thanks for an amazing week Bob & Dee

Wow, from beginning to end, so much space, the games room was great fun, the whole place was cosy and the owners were so welcoming. We had dogs with us and lots of walks to go on nearby. Would definitely love to stay again.

There was plenty of room. The games room and the films were well used by everyone. We had pool and darts competitions every night. The kayaks and paddle boards were an added bonus.

Bob and Dee were the kindest and most accommodating hosts we have ever come across, the cottage was beautiful but the garden and back field on the river were the real benefit. We used the games room most evenings to play pool, air hockey, darts and games which kept us amused along with the wide range of DVD's as it did rain a bit ! This is a perfecRead moret location to explore the Dorset coast as right on the A31 with a wonderful farm/butcher/fish monger down the road and a pub 2 doors down. Thank You Hide
