This stunning barn conversion, located at the end of a quiet country lane just 2 miles from Boscastle, is ideal for a getaway with family or friends – not forgetting up to two dogs, of course! Sleeping six across three cosy bedrooms and plenty of room for the pups to snooze, it won’t be long before you’re up and about ready to explore the North Cornwall landscape. Stroll along the South West Coast Path for miles, starting at Boscastle, and making a stop at Warren Point (3 miles) on the way.
The property, situated on lovely enclosed grounds, has a wonderful open-plan design. The living area is fresh and bright with huge vaulted ceilings and roof windows that flood the room with light, but it still makes a cosy haven for you to return to and relax in front of the wood burner in the evening with your pups. There’s no need to worry about bringing sand and muddy paws into the house, since there’s a shower head outside and a utility outbuilding that includes a shower. Enjoy an al fresco meal from the BBQ on the lawn, taking in the fantastic views of the hills, watching the kids and hounds play.
Boscastle is a pretty harbour town that welcomes dogs and has plenty to discover. Visit the Museum of Witchcraft and Magic (2.5 miles) for something spookily different, before popping to one of the many pubs that are happy to offer dogs a welcome drink. St Nectan’s Glen (4 miles), featuring a spectacular 60-foot waterfall, is ideal for a family woodland walk. Leave no stick unfetched and find the loot on the Port Isaac Treasure Trail (12.5 miles) that starts in the town made famous by ITV’s Doc Martin, and of course Tintagel Castle (6 miles) is a must-see.
