Start the day with breakfast on the terrace watching the boats sail by on the River Torridge before heading out for a run with your dogs on the wide stretch of sand at Westward Ho!, 3 miles away. In the evenings head to one of the village pubs and relax in the beer garden or enjoy a hearty homecooked meal before rounding off the day in front of the wood burner effect fire with your pup at your feet.
It will be easy for you and your waggy-tailed friends to make yourselves at home in this attractively updated fisherman’s cottage. In the summer throw open the patio doors to enjoy the fresh air, or in winter cosy-up and watch the lights twinkling across the estuary in the village of Instow. Three bedrooms, two doubles and a bunk bedroom, are found at the top of a steep flight of cottage-style stairs. Outside, several steps lead up to a raised decked terrace with a BBQ and garden furniture making it a great place for al fresco dining, just be sure to stock up on doggy treats too!
The traditional fishing village of Appledore is one of those idyllic spots where holidaymakers can rub shoulders with the locals and enjoy a true taste of Devon life. An array of shops and eateries are clustered around the village quay, several of which have outdoor space allowing your dogs to curl up under the table and keep a hopeful eye out for tasty titbits. You and your pup are bound to be impressed by the fantastic walks on offer within the local area, including the South West Coast Path which passes through the village.
