Set within North Devon’s peaceful countryside, this characterful cottage is a relaxing rural retreat for a group getaway, just a few miles from some of the top places to visit in the area, including the large beach of Westward Ho!, parts of which remain dog-friendly all year round. This magnificent, spacious barn conversion is well-suited to a large family or two families sharing, together with up to two canine companions.
The property’s stylish and comfortable bedrooms are located on the ground floor. The stunning, spacious master bedroom is a lovely restful space, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a pretty courtyard. The other three bedrooms are equally attractive, with access onto an enclosed patio area. Upstairs are the living spaces, which include character and charm. A large lounge area offers comfortable sofas arranged around a wood burner, which your four-legged friends are bound to appreciate after a day out exploring. Skylights and low-level windows create a bright and welcoming atmosphere, a feeling which is carried through to the kitchen/diner up a short staircase from the lounge. Outside, a large walled garden, mainly lawn, provides plenty of space for adults, children and dogs to play games or enjoy a BBQ.
Bideford (3 miles) is a lively riverside town which has a good range of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as a lovely park and riverside walks, perfect for dogs. The seaside town of Westward Ho! is just 6 miles north of the property and boasts a stunning 2-mile wide sandy beach, the northern stretch of which allows dogs all year round. Just a little way along the coast is the spectacular Hartland Point (19 miles), a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the South West Coast Path providing stunning scenery as you walk along with the dogs.
