A large, enclosed garden makes this picturesque cottage a great destination for couples with their happy hounds. Just a mile from a dog-friendly pub that serves top-quality food, it’s set on a farm in deepest Cornish countryside and surrounded by fabulous walks where you can hike for miles and really stretch your legs.
Beamed ceilings and exposed-stone walls add heaps of character to this cute cottage, which is both comfortable and peaceful, and really feels like a get-away-from-it-all retreat. It’s all on one storey, with an open-plan living space that includes a compact kitchen, a dining table and a squishy sofa. Cuddle up here in front of the electric fire, perhaps getting stuck in to a good book, listening to music or watching a DVD. Your pups will be happy, too - there’s plenty of room for their bowls and beds in here. The double bedroom feels very welcoming and has views over the patio, and you have a shower room for a refreshing rinse. The enclosed garden is set on various levels with steps in between, and includes a dining area for al fresco drinks and meals as well as a generous lawn where your furry friends will love to run and play. For a change, why not arrange with the owner to fish, use the bird hide or meet the calves on the farm?
The cottage is close to a variety of world-class attractions, including the Eden Project, 4.5 miles, where you can bring your pups for scenic outdoor walks, and take it in turns to explore the plant-filled biomes without them. Charlestown, 6.5 miles, has a historic harbour with impressive tall ships, and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, where mutts on leads are very welcome, is just 13 miles.
