As dog lovers, one of our missions is to help as many dogs as possible – not only the dogs who come to stay at our cottages to enjoy a tail-wagging holiday, but also the dogs and other animals across the country who are not quite as fortunate.
This is why we are delighted to partner up with animal charities who do some simply incredible work in both rehoming and caring for animals. We believe that every animal, not just dogs, deserve a loving home and a happy life, and by supporting these charities we hope to play our part in making a difference in animal welfare.
With rehoming centres in Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and North London, Wood Green is one of the country’s leading animal charities, offering help to pets of all kinds, ranging from dogs and cats to chickens, goats and ferrets. Not only do they help to find animals a loving home, but also look after sick and injured animals and promote animal welfare issues, such as neutering awareness and keeping pets safe from fireworks.
We’re proud to work with this fantastic charity and hope to raise more awareness of the work they do, helping even more pets to get the care and love that they need. We hope that our donation will be able to save some precious lives and make sure the animals are comfortable at the rehoming centre while they await their new loving forever home.
In aid of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, our humans at both Canine Cottages and Travel Chapter took part in Wear Your Whiskers Day, held on Friday 27th October. This saw some of our staff members don whiskers, ears, paws and fur to transform into a dog or cat for a day. We think they look pretty good – Trip doesn’t see why every day can’t be a Wear Your Whiskers Day!
Alongside the dressing up, there was also a yummy bake sale packed with cookies and cakes (though unfortunately no dog biscuits) to help raise even more funds for this fantastic animal charity.
As seen on Paul O’Grady: For the Love of Dogs, the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is one of the largest animal rehoming centres in the UK, based in Battersea, London. Since they welcomed their first stray dog back in 1860, they have helped more than three million animals find a loving home, and give love and care to over 7000 animals every year. We hope that by wearing our whiskers our donation will help even more dogs and cats find the family they deserve.
We're passionate about supporting all kinds of animal charities, particularly those who may not receive as much funding from the government. As sponsors of Ferne Animal Sanctuary, we recognise the tireless work they have put into rehoming animals for the last 75 years, and all of the effort they continue to make to ensure these animals are loved and well looked after.
Supporting charities dedicated to the welfare of our four-legged friends, this fun, annual event encourages people across the country to take part in a day that all dog-lovers adore - taking their pooch to work with them!
Featuring in the national press and television shows, this furnomenal occasion is a chance to have fun whilst still raising money and raising awareness of charities that desperately need funding to maintain their incredible work, which is exactly why we love being a part of it. As corporate sponsors, we recognise all of the hard work that goes into organising this day each year and getting as many people involved as possible, and couldn't think of a better way to raise awareness than to spend a day at the office with loads of dogs!
