Property code: OC-EK745

This stunning barn conversion offers the best of all worlds, with a countryside location and easy access to the coast. There’s a huge garden to explore and a vast open-plan living space where family, friends and a furry loved-one can enjoy down-time together.

Step into a fabulous lounge/diner/kitchen with exposed structural beams, rustic oak flooring and enough floorspace for Fido to stretch out while his human pack settle in. A centrepiece Italian leather sofa is complemented by other comfortable seating, while among the modern must-haves there’s super-fast Wi-Fi, a Smart TV and Bose music centre. To one end, the kitchen has everything you’ll need to cook up a feast plus a Nespresso coffee machine to kick-start your day; a spacious wooden dining suite sits between the two, the entire area bathed in light. A shower room completes the ground floor layout, and carpeted stairs lead up to three captivating bedrooms;: the first has a king-size bed and an en-suite shower room, the second has twin beds and the third has a double. A screened Mediterranean garden to the front of the property has furniture, a charcoal BBQ and a majestic olive tree for shade, while to the rear there’s decking with far-reaching views over Romney Marsh plus a fenced pond, seating and a boardwalk. Enjoy walks around the owners’ garden – open to the public twice a year – or arrange a game on their tennis court; there’s also storage for any bikes you want to bring.

The coastal town of Hythe is around 8 miles east and has historical sites as well as a long beachfront that’s perfect for a stroll. Fifteen miles south of your holiday home, the headland of Dungeness has the largest shingle beach in Europe, but if Fido prefers to play fetcha on smoother terrain, beautiful Camber Sands is 9.5 miles along the coast. Closer to home, wander alongside the Royal Military Canal to enjoy open countryside, rural peace and wildlife-spotting.

Swallows Return was a fabulous place to stay for a week in the beautiful Kent countryside. The owners are wonderful hosts , who have created a wildlife haven , just 15 minutes from the coast. We had the most relaxing week in this wonderful, comfortable and well positioned property. The gardens are truly magical , a different view from each turn. Had a lovely week at Swallows Return. The barn is in a peaceful location & we were able to relax & enjoy the peace & quiet of the Kent countryside. Ashford was less than 15 minutes drive & has everything you need including supermarket & gym (essential for me)! The owners were wonderful hosts & went out of their way to ensure our stay was comfortaRead moreble. They welcomed us to share the 2 acres of beautiful garden so that we could walk our dog. The garden is full of fruit trees so we easily managed our 5-a-day. Scrumping was actively encouraged. With the provisions provided on our arrival the owners left some homemade apple juice & upon leaving presented us with some Victoria plum jam. On our star rating wed rate the accommodation & hosts with their hospitality 5 out of 5 Hide

What a beautiful place to stay. We felt at home straight away. You have everything we need.
