In an excellent Kent location surrounded by 22 acres of private parkland and pasture, this welcoming holiday home is a wonderful spot for a family holiday with your beloved pet. There’s a dog-friendly pub in the village of Marden (2.5 miles away by road or 1.5-mile walk), along with local shops and cafés. The one-storey cottage has space for six guests over its three bedrooms, so is wonderfully suited to a family or group of friends, with up to one doggie pal.
At the property, you may like to enter via the rear boot room if paws are muddy. The inside is beautifully decorated with stylish touches, such as lovely herringbone wooden flooring and antique furniture. You can enjoy modern open-plan living during your stay, with a kitchen, dining area and cosy sitting room all in the same place. There’s also a second area for relaxation with your pet – and an adjoining drawing room with a sofa, a chaise longue and an armchair. The seating is centred around a wood burner (excellent for doggie snoozes) and a Smart TV for evening entertainment. Outside, you’ll have a private terrace and a large, enclosed garden where your pet can relax safely in the fresh air. When sleep calls, the first bedroom has a super-king-bed, the second has a double bed and a wonderful free-standing bathtub, and the final bedroom is an enchanting twin room. An elegant bathroom with a walk-in shower and separate bath completes this property. Meanwhile, you can lap up the parkland views and sizzle up treats on the charcoal BBQ. In the parkland, please remember to keep your dog on a lead when sheep are grazing.
You’ll be 3 miles from the High Weald AONB, offering yet more opportunities for excellent walks through pet-friendly terrain. The area also boasts several wineries and distilleries, including Herbert Hall (2 miles) where dogs are welcome to join you as you sample various local tipples. There are excellent dog-friendly walking routes at Bedgebury Forest and Bewl Water (9.5 miles), or you can take your pet on a steam train at Bodiam (15.5 miles).
