Steeped in history and set on the fringes of Abersoch, this striking stone property boasts breathtaking views of rolling emerald valleys and hazy coastal cliffs. Two-legged and four-pawed travellers alike are sure to delight in a visit to this charming rural hideaway. Perch on the beach bar terrace and soak in the tranquillity of Llanbedrog Beach (4 miles) while furry food connoisseurs peruse the doggy menu. Back at base, sip a chilled tipple from the elegant glass-fronted patio.

This tastefully remodelled cottage is the epitome of easy country living. Enjoy rustic exposed beams, textured stone walls, wooden detailing, and checked soft furnishings. Dry muddy paws by the door before venturing into the vaulted kitchen/diner. Raid the panelled cabinets for a pre-dinner snack then slide open the Bifold doors so Fido can chomp an al fresco chew. With the breeze drifting inside, adorn the wooden feasting table with an evening spread then raise a celebratory glass of fizz. Retire to the cosy lounge and sink onto the soft sofas with a brew. Unwind with a film on the Smart TV while your tufty-pawed companion snoozes by the wood burner. As the evening draws in, descend the staircase to find the three inviting ground-floor bedrooms. Choose from an en-suite double, an airy twin, and a double with a single – each styled in crisp neutral tones with wrought iron bed frames. Outdoors,Very large enclosed garden adjoining farmland. Drink in views of Bardsey Island from the slate-paved terrace, or get noses twitching with a sizzling BBQ feast on the patio.

Pack some treats then make a beeline for the sandy stretch of coastline at Hells Mouth (2.5 miles) for a wonderful ball-throwing backdrop. Scamper along the Mynydd Tir y Cwmwd headland (4 miles) then stop by for a post-adventure pint with the dog-loving locals in Pwhelli (7.5 miles).

Fabulous location and an BBC amazing property that is cosy yet spacious. Extremely well equipped and our only complaint is that a 5 day break was too short!
