This quintessential Lakeland building is made from gorgeous stone and combines traditional and modern features for a cosy and comfortable stay for you and your pets. It’s located between Windermere and Bowness, with countless opportunities for wonderful walks in the national park. This property accommodates up to six guests over three bedrooms, and two four-legged visitors are welcome, too.
The house has been refurbished to an exceptionally high standard, with stylish furniture and traditional sash and mullioned windows adding charm. Look out for the interesting artefacts and decorative touches that contribute to the homely atmosphere. In the living room, you can stretch out on the cosy sofas while the pets dream of catching rabbits by the toasty wood burner. The kitchen/diner is an airy space with a compact modern kitchen and a wooden table and chairs for enjoying meals together. Up two steps are French doors leading out to an enclosed patio that’s ideal for having coffee outdoors while the pets find a shady spot for a nap. In warm weather, why not sizzle up a BBQ and save a sausage or two for the pets?
You’ll find a dog-friendly pub within 300 metres and plenty of shops and cafes in the streets nearby. The stunning Lake Windemere, whose east bank is just 0.5 miles away, is a wonderful site to explore with your pet. Head down to the ferry terminal at Bowness Nab (1.5 miles) and take the boat to the west bank, then make a beeline for the Claife Viewing Station (2 miles), a National Trust site with gorgeous lakeside and woodland walks that’ll soon set tails wagging. The Claife Heights summit (3 miles) is another great option for an energetic walk in a gorgeous setting.
