Head out on foot with your happy hound at your heel when you stay at this retreat in the picturesque Dorset village of Langton Matravers. Sleeping eight guests, the four-bedroom holiday home could suit one or two families together or a party of friends with a canine companion in tow. As well as offering great access to the Jurassic Coast and beautiful countryside of the Purbeck Peninsula, it also has a lawned garden for playing fetch in.
Open the front door to this inviting chalet bungalow and let your pet pad through to the airy, open-plan lounge/diner. Rest weary paws and feet in here, perhaps with the TV on, before heading through to the kitchen to dish up doggy dinners and prepare feasts for everyone else. Also downstairs are a king-size bedroom and a twin, which has zip-and-link beds that can be combined to make a super-king-size bed. A second king-size is up on the first floor - with ensuite, together with a twin room, with 2’6” beds. There is a family bathroom at the property. Make the most of the garden on sunny days, dining on the patio and letting your pup play on the grass. There is off-street parking for two cars at the cottage.
Walk 1 mile from the house down to the sea at Dancing Ledge, which is suitable for dogs that can manage something of a scramble down the cliffs. Head 2.5 miles into Swanage, where Monkey Beach welcomes four-legged visitors all year round. Venture 6 miles to the beautiful South Beach at scenic Studland Bay, where happy hounds can also splash in the sea as much as they wish. Enjoy an excursion to the National Trust’s impressive Corfe Castle, 4 miles from the cottage, where waggy-tailed visitors are also allowed to explore.
