This wow-factor farmhouse in the Lake District offers lavish accommodation for up to ten human guests and two four-legged friends. It’s a former gentlemen’s residence and has a huge, enclosed garden your pets can run around in, as well as spectacular countryside views from every room. You’ll find outstanding hiking opportunities starting right outside your front door – if the pets need to let off some steam on arrival, head up your local fell at Reston Scar (0.5 miles) to get a taste of the incredible surrounding scenery. It’s perfect for a large group of family or friends wishing to celebrate a special occasion or just treat themselves to an extra-special trip.

The white building has a quirky shape and layout, with elegant, curved windows that lend it plenty of charm. All the rooms are spacious, and this refurbished property has something of a regal feel to it thanks to chandeliers, antique furniture and plush carpets. The traditional kitchen has an Aga where you cook up huge feasts to enjoy in the dining room. Or on warm evenings, why not spark up the BBQ and sizzle up a fresh-air feast? As the doggie-tantalising smells waft through the air, you can relax on the garden furniture and plan tomorrow’s adventures. There are five bedrooms on the first floor – if you’re lucky, you’ll get the one with a four-poster bed!

You’ll be 1 mile from the pretty village of Staveley, which is popular with walkers and cyclists because it’s located on the popular Dales Way. The stunning Lake Windemere, 4.5 miles away, offers watery walks the dogs will soon be salivating over – as well as water sports like kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding for the more adventurous canines. For more walking opportunities, head to the Kentmere Valley, 5 miles to the north.

One of the best accommodations we have stayed in. Beautiful house, very well equipped. Views were cracking an a great location for the lakes. We would definitely book again

Fabulous rural location on a working farm. Wonderful aspect from the windows. Spacious accommodation, comfortable bedrooms and smart contemporary bathrooms.

Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Beautiful setting and good location to travel into Windermere and Kendal. Due to time of year did not try local walks but I am sure they would be good.
