This gorgeous hut is in an elevated position overlooking a stream and woodland, and as you arrive you can really appreciate the beautiful countryside which surrounds it. Inside, the open-plan space includes a wood burner to keep you cosy in cooler weather, and a compact kitchen in which you can rustle up tasty meals for an evening at home. There’s a dining table for two and a Smart TV in case you want to snuggle down with a movie. The super-cosy king-size bedroom is at the far end, and there’s no compromise in terms of comfort: the shower room has a rainwater shower and proper flushing WC. Your private deck is a wonderful space in which to quietly sink into that tranquil holiday feeling, perhaps enjoying something delicious grilled on the BBQ or just with a drink and a good book while you keep an eye out for the local wildlife. If you feel like exploring, pack a picnic and follow the path down to the stream. And, if you’ve brought your own outdoor gear, there’s a covered area to store bikes, canoes and paddle boards.
This is a great base for all kinds of activities, including canoeing, climbing, riding, rafting, paragliding, biking and walks to suit all abilities. The pretty village of Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant is 2.5 miles, where there are shops, pubs and Pistyll Rhaeadr, the highest waterfall in Wales. Hop in the car and within 12 miles you can visit Lake Vyrnwy, Bala Lake, Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and Chirk Castle.
