Escape with your best canine buddy and up to ten other like-minded friends and family to this deluxe former farmhouse on the outskirts of peaceful Stonesfield village. It ticks so many boxes, it’s hard to know where to start but all ages (and species) will adore the extensive gardens, complete with quirky Arctic Cabin BBQ hut. And with a bedroom downstairs, it’s the perfect holiday pad for a multi-generational family break. Artfully refurbished, the property retains characterful features such as exposed stonework and beams, brick fireplaces, wooden floors, rustic doors and apexed ceilings – all seamlessly married with contemporary interiors and stylish design.

The oak-framed dining room has doors opening onto the decking and garden, and is in an extension behind the farmhouse-style kitchen complete with Aga and rustic tiled floor. Both are a dream for cooking and eating holiday feasts, while overlooking the lovely gardens. Before or after dining, there’s a choice of places to flop – either the snug complete with extra sofabed and a wood burner or the main lounge with lots of sumptuous sofas and oak woodwork. One double bedroom downstairs has both a charming wood burner set in an inglenook and access to the garden. Up the oak staircase awaits one en-suite super-king-size bedroom, one en-suite king-size bedroom, one twin and one (rather exciting if you’re a child!) triple bunk bedroom. All have individual colour and design touches but are gorgeous spaces for a restful night. The beautifully planted 0.5-acre garden has kids’ play equipment, a pond and a charcoal BBQ.

Grab the dog’s lead and head out on the Oxfordshire Way direct from the doorstep. Or use this house as a base for exploring the famous Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The kids might moan but the dog won’t! Or discover beautiful Oxford, within 14.5 miles.

A quiet, wonderfully equipped cottage for large groups. Quirky layout gives choices of use and the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The kitchen has everything one might need and the addition of the Arctic Cabin for indoor barbecuing is a great asset. Nearby Woodstock is a lovely town to visit, along with Daylesford and the Cotswold villages. Read moreThe beautiful garden offers choices of outside seating in the summer. Highly recommend! Hide

The cottage is ideal for a group of adults or older children. The setting is stunning with wildlife on your door step. The cottage is full of character e.g steps and therefore is not very disability friendly for those with mobility issues. The host was on hand if we needed her.

Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings. We (family of five and a dog) had a great vacation here.

Hollyhock House was a wonderful place to stay. We had a family weekend there for my mum's 90th birthday. The cottage was comfortable, very well equipped and everything was of a high standard, especially the linen. Very nicely decorated and thought out. Would stay there again anytime. Hosts were very helpful and informative.
