With gorgeous views and a garden with a hot tub, this superb property near Pooley Bridge in the Lake District National Park is an ideal destination for families or friends. Enjoy unbeatable views for miles and make the most of your own private hot tub, after days spent adventuring around this popular region.
At the heart of this traditional stone house is the welcoming lounge where you can gather around the wood burner, with pups at your feet, for a sociable evening. Fully open plan to this area is the kitchen/diner, where there is plenty of space for preparing and enjoying tasty meals. Escape for a spot of quiet time in the sunroom, which has glorious views of fields and fells – its stone flooring also makes this a practical space for muddy mutts. The shower room is on the ground floor, with the bathroom on the first floor set a couple of steps down from the landing. The three attractive bedrooms – a double, a king-size and a twin, all have breathtaking views. The pretty garden, from which there are steps up to the parking space, offers comfortable seating, dining furniture and a charcoal BBQ – a fabulous place in which to sit and enjoy the sun while happy hounds chase their tails on the lawn. Last but not least, the hot tub is a bonus for anyone wishing to enjoy a soak while breathing in the fresh air.
Just 2 miles away is Pooley Bridge, where you will find country pubs, a waterside cafe and independent shops. Cruise on one of the Ullswater ‘Steamers’ (dogs welcome) to Glenridding, from which you can walk a section of the Ullswater Way through Glencoyne Park – an inspiration for William Wordsworth – and to the beautiful Aira Force waterfall. Another lovely trip is to the ruins and gardens of Lowther Castle (pups on leads), 3 miles away, while 6 miles from this cottage is the market town of Penrith with lots of lovely dog-friendly pubs and restaurants.
