Relax with the family in this lovely character cottage on the outskirts of rural Derbyshire. Spend your days relaxing with good company at the cottage or enjoy the local amenities which are within walking distance.
A traditional, picture-perfect cottage that is full of charm and exceptionally comfortable. Four-legged dogs in particular will love a stay here thanks to the inglenook fireplace in the lounge. While the property feels cosy, it’s deceptively large and can sleep up to eight people plus two dogs - so it’s perfect for an extended family get-together or groups of friends.
Inside, past a space to store coats and boots, guests head through to the kitchen with a beautiful beamed ceiling. It has everything needed to cater easily for a big crowd, plus a utility room to store away any extra groceries as well as a washing machine and dryer. The dining room will be the backdrop for plenty a memorable meal, while the lounge has plenty of comfortable seating for quieter times in front of the wood burner. Two of the bedrooms can be reached by one staircase - both with super-king-size beds that are zip-and-link should twins be required. One of the rooms has an en-suite bathroom. A second staircase leads to another super-king zip-and-link bedroom (again which can be made into a twin upon request) and a double bedroom. A nearby shower room can be used by these rooms. Outside, the pretty enclosed courtyard garden is the perfect place to spend warmer days, as well as being a great place to quickly let the dogs out in the morning. It has outdoor furniture and a BBQ for al fresco meals.
Based on the doorstep of Markeaton Park, dogs will be excited by having so many green spaces immediately available. There are also other sporting activities here for other guests. The pretty town of Ashbourne is close by too which borders the Peak District National Park for more dramatic walks, while the National Trust’s Kedleston Hall is just 3 miles away.
