Gather all your loved ones together, those with four legs as well, for a true countryside holiday for six guests and one pup. Spend the days exploring the wonders of the Peak district, from the high, moorland plateaus to the steep-sided, deep dales and rolling green hills before returning home for relaxing evenings in front of the wood burner with a hot chocolate and a belly rub!
This beautiful cottage is one of a handful of properties situated on this Peak District farm with stunning rolling hills as your backdrop. Kick off wet boots and dry damp fur to pad through to the open-plan living space, where your pup can settle on his favourite blanket with the underfloor heating an added luxury! Take a cup of tea to the sofa with a good book, resting those walk-weary limbs. On warm evenings, watch Rover potter about the private garden as you enjoy a spot of al fresco dining, before returning to the warmth of the lounge when the sun goes down. Your happy hound will love snoozing in front of the wood burner as you snuggle down to watch a film, the perfect end to a busy day.
The Peak District is one of the finest areas in the country to go walking – a doggy’s heaven! For a challenge, climb Mam Tor (11 miles) or take on the highest point, Kinder Scout (15 miles), surrounded by moorland. For a riverside ramble, head to Calver (2 miles) and walk to Froggatt and back, or follow the Monsal Trail, a traffic free route through some of the Peak District's most spectacular limestone dales. Longshaw Country Park (7 miles) boasts ancient woods, parkland and heather moorland, whilst climbing to the imposing ruins of Peveril Castle (8 miles) gives breath-taking views over the Hope Valley.
