Enjoying stunning views and surrounded by 4 acres of private gardens, this single-storey cottage is the perfect base for exploring the Lake District. Sleeping up to eight guests and three holidaying hounds, it particularly suits larger groups of friends or family. With the popular Lake Windermere close by, along with many great walks, this home has something for two and four-legged guests.
Both elegant and spacious, this four-bedroom home is reached via a quiet track lane, making it a secluded and idyllic hideaway. A wood burner-effect electric fire is at the heart of the lounge area, while there is also a main lounge with comfortable seating and a wood burner, giving everyone plenty of options when putting their feet and paws up at the end of the day. The well-equipped cottage-style kitchen should inspire some culinary creations which can be enjoyed at the good-sized dining table. Let sleeping dogs lie as you retire to bed and retreat to the cosy and inviting bedrooms. Three are located in the main building, while a twin room is to be found in a separate summer house. The canines will enjoy roaming around the pretty gardens while you relax in one of the many areas which include lawns, benches, tables and a covered veranda.
Wander around the grounds of Tree Hill, the former home of Beatrix Potter, which is situated in the village. Head to Lake Windermere (2.5 miles) and explore on foot or four legs, before hopping on a boat across to the town of Bowness. Meander around Hawkshead (2 miles) and stop off for a bite to eat in one of its many pubs and restaurants. Of course, there’s a plethora of walks and hikes to indulge in here, which should keep even the most discerning stick chasers entertained.
